HOW IT WORKS
1
Consultation
We start with a personalised consultation to understand your business’s energy needs. Our team assesses your current energy usage, roof structure, and sunlight exposure to recommend the optimal solar system size and configuration. This ensures you get the best return on your investment.
2
Custom Design
3
Based on our assessment, we design a custom solar solution tailored to maximise efficiency for your business. This plan includes panel layout, inverter placement, and overall system design for peak performance.
Permits & Installation
Our certified installation team manages every aspect of the setup, tailoring the system to meet your businesses specific energy needs. We handle all permits, approvals, and inspections, ensuring compliance with local codes and regulations. This customised approach helps maximise efficiency and delivers a solar solution designed just for your business requirements.

Sounds too good. What’s the catch? We hear this a lot, and we get it. The answer is simple: there is no catch. We partner with energy retailers to offer plans that allow you to pay only for the solar power you use, which costs less than traditional grid power because the energy retailer sells you some of the energy from the solar. By joining our network, you're saving money and participating in an innovative approach to reducing energy costs for everyone.
-
What are the costs involved? No smoke and mirrors here. There are zero upfront costs with NRN. You'll be billed at a reduced rate for the solar and battery power you use. A fixed daily fee will cover network costs and give you access to our Virtual Power Plant (VPP). All of these are included in your more affordable energy plan.
-
What happens if the system isn’t working right?Leave the technical stuff to us. At NRN, we handle regular monitoring and maintenance to ensure your system runs efficiently. If there's a hiccup, we'll fix it at no extra cost. You can rest easy knowing we take full responsibility for the system's operation and performance.
-
Can I switch retailers? You're not locked into any one energy retailer. With NRN, you maintain your "Power of Choice" rights, which means you can switch energy retailers anytime to find the best rates for you. If you decide to go with another NRN Partner Retailer, your plan will still cover all the costs of operating and maintaining the system. The Partner Retailer plans are structured to provide you with the best financial benefits. If you choose a non-partner retailer, you'll have to pay a daily fee to NRN in addition to the standard rates and fees provided by the retailer.
-
Do I get a feed-in Tarriff? With some plans, you may receive credit for any energy exported from your battery at certain times. Your daytime solar export benefit is already integrated into your energy plan, so you will not receive a specific credit for any excess solar sent back to the grid during the day or be charged for any energy you send to the grid either. To maximise your system's benefits, it is recommended that you use as much power from the Solar and battery as possible.
-
Can I purchase my Solar and Battery system? You can purchase your Solar and Battery system at any point based on the depreciation schedule outlined in your service agreement. Once purchased, we'll transfer all warranties to you so you'll continue to have full coverage.
-
What if I sell my home?If you decide to sell your home, you have three options. A fully installed Solar and battery system can increase your home’s value, making it more attractive to potential buyers. Transfer Agreement and Enjoy the Benefits: You can pass the Solar and Battery system to the new owners. Just transfer the agreement with a small admin fee of $40. They'll love the energy savings just like you did! NRN will provide you with a Selling Home Pack containing all warranties, maintenance schedule, and more to make the process a breeze. Buying the Solar & Battery System: You can buy it at a special discount, and the purchase price is pre-determined. We'll even apply monthly discounts! Removing the System: If you want to remove the NRN System, contact us at NRN to let us know. After you’ve paid the system's total cost, we’ll cover everything for you. We’ll arrange for a Solar Retailer to remove and deliver the system to an approved site. Your obligations under this contract will end once the system is removed and you’ve paid in full. After that, this contract will be terminated.
-
How long is the agreement, and what happens at the end?The NRN agreement covers ongoing service and maintenance for ten years. You can buy out the system at any time at the depreciated value. If, after ten years, you choose to continue with the NRN plans, we will upgrade your battery and inverter at no extra charge. Alternatively, you'll have the opportunity to purchase or remove the system if that suits your plans.

What is a VPP (Virtual Power Plant)?A Virtual Power Plant is a network of connected systems providing power and other grid services. The VPP is controlled by a central system that manages the production and distribution of electricity according to demand. When electricity demand is high, the VPP draws power from multiple sources and distributes it to the grid. When demand is low, the VPP can store excess energy in batteries or sell it back to the grid. VPPs help to increase the efficiency and reliability of the energy grid by balancing the supply and demand of electricity.
-
What's so good about a VPP?A Virtual Power Plant (VPP) with NRN helps you save money on your energy bills. Through our partnership with energy companies, you can access energy from solar and battery systems without the upfront cost. This allows the energy company to offer you lower bills as they are selling you the energy from the solar system which they have paid for. Additionally, VPPs reduce the need for costly grid upgrades, helping to lower energy prices. Join a VPP with NRN and enjoy a more affordable energy solution.
